We read an article on plant-based milk. High prices are making people's lives more difficult. In Japan, in particular, there have been many price hikes of food products. For example, when I went to McDonald's this week, the price of fries had been raised. |

Thank you for the wonderful lesson. I told you that I use a pedometer to track my daily steps. And then you gave me awesome news. I'm so happy, it feels like it happened to me. In the blink of an eye. Thanks as always. I look forward to our lesson. |

I appreciate your helpful lesson. According to the article we read, in Europe, millionallors and billionallors argue that they should be taxed more. However, if they really believe so, I bet they can spontaneously create a foundation and donate for poor people like the Bill Gates foundation. I'd say, to prevent billionaires from evading taxes, an international taxation system should be established. In reality, however, creating an international taxation system will be difficult due to tax exemptions granted to small countries like Panama. |

We read an article on Japan's decision to open its border to inbound tourists. I understand Japan's restriction on foreigners is the harshest among G7 countries. The gradual lift of control will stimulate Japan's economy but might endanger its general hygiene. |

I practiced so many words' pronunciation, such as "Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers." I'd like to learn more. Many thanks to you, Xandra! |

Thank you, Xandra! At first, we read an article on monkeypox. Then we practiced pronunciation, focusing on word stress, rhythm, and schwa sound. Since this was my first experience correcting my accent, it was pretty helpful and informative. Even if it takes a long time to master pronunciation, I'd like to keep practicing. |

Thank you for the great lesson. I really enjoyed it. As always though. I spoke to you that I made the cheese sticks you told me. We talked about different ways to make it. And then we talked about tamarind. Your story makes me happy and It's helpful for me to talk with you. I look forward to talking with you again. |

I booked two lessons in a row. This time, our theme was holidays; we addressed the Golden Week. This year, I could not enjoy the Golden Week because I needed to focus on a test. Ecotourism is a far cry from conventional tourism it was twenty years ago. On the other hand, tourist companies make a lot of profit by raising prices during the Golden Week - it costs an arm and a leg to visit foreign countries during the week. On Children's day, people pray for children's health; some people hoist carp streamers. |

We talked about leisure activities; I played the piano when I was elementary. On top of playing the piano, I played baseball. Recent leisure is a far cry from conventional leisure it was twenty years ago. However, Internet technology changed our perspective on leisure significantly. Nowadays, people spend a long time at home. |

I reserved two lessons in a row. This time, our theme was jobs. The job I wanted to talk about was nothing other than being a prime minister of Japan. The person I mentioned displayed some qualities of a prime minister. In my way of thinking, even if highly paid, I wouldn't want to be a novelist. I could find "to my way of thinking" in dictionaries but not "in my way of thinking." Maybe "in my way of thinking" is colloquial. |

Our free conversation subject was books. I spoke of my favorite author and his biography of two Japanese political figures; both of them were prime ministers. It seems to me reading comics is a waste of time. When I was a child, there were no such things as ebooks. Current technology is a far cry from the technology it was twenty years ago. |

Thank you for the amazing lesson. I told you about what happened on the weekend. And you told me about how to make fried mozzarella cheese. There is skill in it, when I make this cheese dish. You gave me those skills. And we talked about the video you sent me the other day. I learned a lot from you every time. I really appreciate it. I look forward to talking with you. |

Our free conversation's subject was a crime. I talked about a scam in which an older person was deceived by a young culprit who pretended to be his grandson. When he visited a police station, he was advised that he should have contacted the station before he met with his "grandson." I also addressed my experience with a security officer who broke into my room while staying in a hotel in a foreign country. I always appreciate your help and corrections. |
