Although you made a note of correction regarding 'go to see a doctor', I think
my original sentence was not bad.
1.) (x) He barely went see the doctor.
(/) He rarely went to the doctor.

Actually we can see some samples using the phrase 'go see a doctor' rather than 'go to see a doctor'.
