Hey everyone!!! こんにちは!My name is Alexander but you can call me Shu (しゅう).
Firstly, a bit about myself. I'm half British and half Japanese. My first language is English and I've lived in the UK for my whole life but I can also speak fluent Japanese. I have been to Japan on numerous occasions to visit my grandparents in Saitama prefecture and therefore have a good understnading of Japanese culture and tradition. I'm currently studying medicine at Imperial College London and hope to become a doctor in the future. My main hobbies include sport, travelling, films/TV and games. However, I'm open to talk about anything in the lessons!
As a tutor, I have taught over 100 A level and GCSE biology, chemistry and Japanese lessons and I currently teach weekly science classes for aspiring medics. I also have experience teaching year 6 maths for a year and I have lots of experience as an assistant tennis coach. My aim is to make the lessons as enjoyable and productive as possible, ensuring the student is enjoying the lesson whilst still learning a lot of new vocabulary and grammatical structures. I will aim to make the student feel as comfortable as possible and will allow you to make lots of mistakes but will always make sure you learn from them. I'm a very kind and patient tutor and I always give 100% in every lesson. I will let you decide what you want to learn about before each lesson and I am very flexible if you decide midway through the lesson you want to learn about something else.
Having been to Japan many times, I know how important learning English is for both adults and children. English is a fantastic language as it enables us to learn so much more about the world and to meet so many people. It provides us with so many extra opportunities and opens new doors.
I hope you consider having me as your tutor! If you do choose me, I look forward to meeting you and can't wait to teach you English!
