I'm Richard from Manchester, England. I work as a snowboard instructor in winter and as a scuba diving instructor in the summer. I have lived and worked in Japan for 6 winters and 2 summers, mostly in Niigata (winter) and Ishigaki (summer).
To relax I like to watch movies, read books, and play games. I am very passionate about protecting the environment and animals, especially cleaning and protecting the ocean.
My Japanese friends tell me that I always have very clear explanations when I help with their English and I always enjoy helping them. Now I would like to do the same for you! Speaking English is a very useful skill for work, travel, or just for fun, so I hope I can help you progress too. I think the best way to learn anything is to try, and keep practicing. So I will mostly teach through regular conversation - fixing any mistakes you might make - whilst trying to introduce you to new vocabulary.
I have a lot of travel experience so I can explain to you the differences in English between Britain, America, Australia etc dialects, and in Japanese cultural differences. I can definitely help to imrpove your pronunciation, but my main goal is to improve your confidence because in my experience learning Japanese, confidence is the absolute most important aspect or putting your skills to use.
