Hi! My name is Indira Pontevedra, but you can call me Indi. I am from the Philippines, specifically from Surigao del Sur. The words "del Sur" literally mean "from the south" in Spanish. My culture is a mix of Spanish religion, American language, and the unique Filipino flavor.
As a child, I grew up in a household which hosted foreign marine biologists. I got to know people from England, Ireland, and Australia, so I practiced English with them. They also toured coastal areas for work and I often tagged along. Until now, I love going to the beach for picnics. My recent recreational activity with friends is island-hopping. There is a resort near my hometown with islets scattered around. We enjoy banana boat rides, snorkeling, and swimming.
I am studying to get my Master's in Teaching Mathematics degree. Mathematics is the language of the sciences and English is the language of the world. I am equally fascinated with both of them. My passion is teaching, whether it is Mathematics or English, I like sharing knowledge. Just like Math, there are formulas that we should follow to speak and write correctly in English. I may be used to formulas but I prefer the tone of casual conversational English. After all, it is best to interact naturally.
