Hello, everyone!  Hajimemashite.

My name is Odette from Manila, Philippines.  I am a jolly person that loves to travel whenever a chance allows. Exploring places is one of the best things I enjoy doing. I love taking pictures and my camera is my best travel buddy. Also, I'm a cat person. I have a persian cat I called "Muffin".

I was previously part of a US-based IT company as a  sales support/office manager here in Manila. That job gave me an opportunity to travel to different countries like the US, Japan, Mexico, Hongkong and London. I am not an IT but I'm trained in how our technology works so I could introduce the system to private and government offices.  

I can speak and understand conversational-level Japanese and that is one of the reasons that motivated me to teach. Students especially beginners can easily express themselves in their own language which they are comfortable with so I could understand them more. I love teaching kids and it is my goal to help them build their self-esteem and believe in their abilities. I always try to inspire them and show a calm atmosphere during the lesson.

特に初心者の学生は、彼らが慣れ親しんだ母国語で簡単に自分自身を表現できるので、
私は彼らをより理解することができました.私は子供たちに教えることが大好きで、
子供たちが自尊心を築き、自分の能力を信じるのを助けることが私の目標です.
私はいつも彼らを刺激し、レッスン中は落ち着いた雰囲気を見せるようにしています.

Learning a new language is not easy. It's overwhelming, scary and tedious at times. But with great determination and perseverance plus with the help of a good teacher will definitely level up your knowledge and skills. 

Teaching for me is not just a job. It is sharing something I know based on my experiences. It means reaching out with an open heart and mind so the students can trust you in return. 

Learning doesn't have to be so stressful and uptight. So I make sure to have a good relationship with my students and learn enjoyably. I make it as interesting as possible to motivate them to learn English.
