But I did not think that I could speak well. I did not
listen to and read English than usual this week.

We read an article and checked vocabularies and expressions so that I could understand the meaning of the article.
Although I asked a lot of questions, Max taught me them clearly and courteously.
Thanks for the helpful lesson, I learned a lot from the article.
This is sort of a useful step toward next my target.

優しくて真面目な先生です。何かエキゾチックな言語を学びたくて、日本語と中国語のどっちかを選ぼうと悩んだ結果、日本語にしたそうです。大阪にある、日本で唯一のオランダ料理の店を教えてもらいました。パンケーキが美味しいとか。今度行ってみよう。
