Richard, thank you for sharing your photos and experiences in Myanmar. I am still wondering why everything is plated in gold in their temples and pagodas. Japanese ones are usually simply made of wood without any painting, which means they look bleak and not so entertaining for tourist eyes. However, Nothing gold can stay, as the American poet wrote. I imagine that very many people keep polishing the statues, walls, interior and exterior.

Thank you for giving a good lesson to my son. He practiced making original sentences by using new vocabulary, such as courthouse, hardware store, motel, parking garage, shoe store and so on. He seemed to have difficulty in doing that but afterward he said the lesson was fun.
