This was our first lesson. I introduced myself and talked about my research topic, food waste prevention. She asked me some questions about it and encourage me to express my opinions about this topic. She also searched for an article related to this topic during our class, in proceeding our lesson and showed me an interesting article. She is very friendly and a good facilitator. Thank you, Jing. Today, we talked about the pensioner's second life in foreign country. In the conversation, Cathryn used a wonderful word "laid back". I didn't know the meaning, but, I remembered that it is the name of old album of Gregg Allman. Let's talk about the music next time.

In these days, teacher Froulaine taught me many tips of English words. Yesterday she taught me the nuance of fill out, fill in, fill up. These words has different meanings which I didn’t know. Japanese words generally changes a part of speech, or even their meanings depends on following words. I found this characteristics is apply not only for Japanese but also English. It’s always fun to talk to one who has educated well.
