 Today, we talked about Yogi. Mono knows about it very well, so description about basic Yogi phylosophy is very interesting and full of deep thoughts. Yogi meditation is similar to Japanese Buddist one, but it includes 3 factors, mind, spirit and body. As one of characteristics in Yogi is focusing breathing, which gives our brain enough rest. Making Yogi poses aims not just stretching our mustle but pumping oxygen to our whole body,,,etc. Getting interested something is a good motivation to memorize the words and expressions, so I learned a lot with fun.  It was our first lesson with Mono and I really enjoyed it. She's kind and a comfortable teacher to talk with. She enphasized "you sould not be afraid of making mistakes, just go for it." What made me feel more happy was that she said that learning grammar was very important to improve the language you're learning. Some people say that studing English grammar makes us confused.  Today, we talked about "what kind of education would you give your chilren" and "How is the influence that IT devices give children?"...etc. I made a small speech by considering "introduction" "body part including some reasons" and "conclusion".

 It's our first lesson. We talked about lots of things and it turned out that we have the same interests. One of which is yoga. Mono-san and me both have been practicing yoga for many years. We both agreed that yoga worked not only on our body but also on our mind (and spirit!). In the latter half of the lesson we read two short articles. Nice meeting you Mono-san.  Today, I chose the topic of BBC documenatry film "Japanese Seacret Shame". This incident has not been reported in Japanese media, but around the world, mass media has already reported it and aired the interview with Shiori. I learned how Japanese society is male dominated society and tends to hide sexcial crimes. Furthermore, when the victim tries to speak up the sexcial assalt, some people blame the action. So, the number of victims who go to the polic to report it is very small. Most of the cases, victims give up speaking up because of worrying to have criticism. Is that fair society? I hope to change it to the society that women can speak up freely and actively. Mono-san patiently listend to my speech and corrected words and phrases and organized my idea.
