We carried on the phrasal verb exercise. Today, I learned "hold on" = wait "get on"=perform, make progress, ex.:How are they getting on at school? "carry on"=continue ex.:She carryied on along this road. "go off" = start to sound, ring. ex.:The fire alarm went off. "pick up"⇔"put down" Cheese explained a lot of phrasal verbs with understandable examples. Thank you, Cheese for your elaborating teaching and encouraging words. See you next lesson! |

It was nice seeing and talking to you, Chie-san. Today we went through my essay about the consequences of an aging society. Chie thoroughly reviewed my essay, pointing out my mistakes mostly in the usage of articles, and suggesting some alternative words. She also told me how to make use of the translation feature of Google, which helps me find synonyms for the word I want to avoid. Thank you for another great lesson, Chie. I will try to think of how we could make the most of our lesson hours. |

Thank you for another great lesson, Chie! We went over my essay about freedom of speech this time together. While I read it out loud, Chie made corrections to my mistakes. Things I learned today were the proper use of the third conditional, how to vary the description of something prevailing among society, and much more. I will incorporate her suggestions into my vocabulary. Thanks again, Chie. Your words are always encouraging and comforting. |

テンポよく次々と質問がとんできて、話さずにはおかないといった感じでした。 分からない単語があっても、質問に対する返答がちぐはぐだったり、ぐだぐだでも最後まで聞いて受け止めてくださいました。今後の学び方についても、熱心に、勇気が湧くようなアドバイスをしてくださり、がんばってみたいと思うことができました。 |

Today, I practiced phrasal verbs with the list and exerceses Cheese gave me. I learned the characteristics of basic prepositions and got the clear images of each phrasal verb such as difference between "fall down" , "fall off" or "go out" and "go away" and "get in-out" and "get on- off". As others, "turn over the page", "go in the room",,,,etc. Thank you, Cheese for the understandable explanation for phrasal verbes. I caught the clear images of them. See you next time! |

Thank you for another great lesson, Chie! We continued the discussion on freedom of speech from the last lesson. She prepared an article related to the theme in advance, and we first went over some words appearing in the article that I was not familiar with. And then, I tried to form my opinion with her help. What I wanted to argue got so complicated that I had trouble making it concise. I will write an essay about it by the next lesson, and we will check it together. Thank you again, Chie. You are always a supportive instructor. |

Thank you for another great lesson, Chie. She prepared a topic about whether guns should be banned or not as a possible question for my Eiken interview. I had read some articles on the theme and had given some thoughts before, but I was at a loss for words when I had to put my thoughts together verbally. I went off the topic and my speech was all over the place. It was a fun and meaningful session, though I should have been more organized and should have stayed calm. |

Today, I talked about what's new for me. I asked Cheese the difference between "permit" and "admit". She explained it understandably with some examples of the use. It's really helpful. And she gave me the useful list of phrasal vervs which has many pictures to show the meanings and exeraceses. Thank you, Cheese for your great help as always. See you next time! |

Thank you for a great lesson, Chie. Since this was our first class, we started with my self-introduction. And then, I asked her how I should improve my command of English, it was, though, almost a vent session. Then, we switched to the Japanese language and talked about what she is offering to those who are aiming for Eiken grade 1. Thanks to her convincing story, I feel revitalized and motivated. |
