We talked about the article "Third of farmed fruit and veg deemed too ugly to sell". Unexpectedly, a lot of fruit and vegetables have been discarded which are misshapen and worng size. The reason is that customers tend not to buy irregular size or shaped produces. This trend is also seen in Japan. But, actually quite a few customers don't mind shape and size of produces if the quality is same. To select good fruits and vegs, farmers grow excess produces and spend much energy and logistics become complicated. We should accept such produces which are ugly but have standard quality. Mark explained my unfamiliar words and phrases and suggested the essential points of the article. Especially, I like "wonky" =not straight or level, sounds cool. "go a long way to..",,,etc. Thank you, Mark for the interesting topic as always. See you next time.

It's been a while to have Chris's lesson since we had Obon holidays, but I'm relieved that their English wasn't getting rusty. They enjoyed his lesson very much as usual. I'm happy that they are learning a lot from Chris.

自己紹介 Hello! My real name is "Charles," but please call me "Casey." I'm 29 years old and I'm from Los Angeles, California. If you have any questions about "L.A." don't hesitate to ask!

Last year I went to Japan for a twelve day vacation. I went to Nagoya, Osaka, Saitama, and Tokyo. My favorite food in Japan was the cheap ice cream from Family Mart. It was only 75 yen!

In high school and college I studied French. My teachers were wonderful. They inspired me to travel and enabled me to speak conversational French with people. I want to be like them: my goal is to inspire and enable you to speak English well enough to achieve your goals!

Regards,
Casey
