I was born in Iwate prefecture and left Japan a year later to live in the United Arab Emirates. In UAE, I lived in this beautiful city called Dubai. I went an international school there where I made many diverse friends from all over the world! I still keep in touch with them today, isn't that amazing? When I turned 10 years old, I moved to the United States of America and went to a public school for 7 years. I finished my Sophomore year there and came back to Japan to finish highschool. Currently, I go to Doshisha University majoring in Political Science.
Before the pandemic, I used to go swim at my local swimming pool almost everyday. It was one of my old habits reminiscent of the days in the swim team back in the U.S. Now that I can't go to public pools, one of my favorite things to do in my free time is to play video games with my old friends in the U.S. Speaking of friends, they always tell me that I'm very easy to talk to and friendly. This really explains how I still communicate with my old friends back in Dubai. I'm also a great keeper of secrets, therefore, I believe that I am a very loyal person. But believe me, I'm a very honest person as well!
What motivates me to teach english is to see the click in my student's eyes when they finally understand what they had difficulty in comprehending. Recieving postive feedback from students is the most pleasant feeling which fuels my motivation. This feeling creates a passion in me to help more students be excited to learn and understand english!
My lesson styles will be flexible, changing it to any requests students have. I will also be focusing on pronounciation and grammar because these two things are essential for english speaking growth. With that being said, I believe that my strengths include correcting pronounciation and grammar. Additionaly, as a politcal science major, we can have political conversations in english if any students wishes to do so.
