Hi, my name is Gordon Macpherson I was born in England of Scottish and English parents. I emigrated to Australia when I was 16 years old.

I have spent many years working in the Asia Pacific region, including Japan, Hong Kong, Philippines, Guam, Saipan, Papua New Guinea, Hawaii, Micronesia, New Zealand and of course Australia.

Now I am retired and living in Cairns, which is situated next to the Great Barrier Reef in Far North Queensland.

I spent many years working in association with Japanese and other international construction companies in the capacity of construction manager or consultant. I was alway pleased that I was complimented on speaking clearly and with no defined accent.

I would like to teach by conversation with those students who have a general understanding of English but wish to learn general and business conversation with some words and phrases not learnt through conventional English lessons.

My wife is Japanese so I have a little understanding of Japanese culture.
