Today we were talking about YouTube plan against online terror and also discussing possibility to protect copyright of video. AI and other IT technology might solve the problems of screening, but still might be difficult to protect TV programs by applying the same technology, we thought. We also discussed whether a video with playing a video in a part of background violated the copyright of the video played in the background. It was very hard for me to discuss this kind of technical topics, but it's interesting to be discussed. Thank you, Frou. See you.

I introduced myself and we read an article about new drug that can copy sunlight. I couldn't tell my opinion about the article well..She spoke clearly and slowly, so it was easy to hear. I found my weak point is that I can't find words, so I want to express my opinion better next time.

I’ve been in NY since this Monday. When I watching the TV news, the reporter said the musical of “A SpongeBob Square Pants” will open on Broadway in this autumn. Oh, I used to watch it with my kids when they were little. My kids loved it very much. Now they have been grown up, and don’t watch it anymore. But if the musical comes to Japan, I’ll invite my kids. Now I have add the fun thing of future which I’m looking forward to.

Thank you for your time. Talk to you soon!

自己紹介 Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Kari and I am originally from Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. I have my MBA in Business administration and many of my past jobs included banking, loans, and even writing contracts for the Air Force. In 2013, I decided to try something new and came to Japan to teach English.

Out of all the jobs I have had in the past, teaching English is the most rewarding and it has become my favorite. One of the biggest reasons for this, is all the amazing students who I have had the privilege to teach English to over the past three and a half years. They truly work so hard and are so determined to reach their English goals that it makes me want to try harder too and help them as much as I can. They definitely inspire me to become a better teacher.

Throughout the years, I have gained a lot of teaching experience. In Tokyo, I taught kids classes, business classes, intensive English classes, private lessons, and free talk lessons. I like to focus on pronunciation, intonation, building vocabulary, and giving my students confidence in their English ability. I really want to help my students improve their English fluency.

Therefore, I always tell my students an important message that I feel will help them to improve faster: mistakes are okay. In order to be an active learner and speak as much as possible, you might make a mistake, but please don't worry because this is a big part of the learning process. These mistakes will help you to learn and improve your English fluency and give you more confidence. I know how hard learning a language is, as I also study Japanese, but it is so rewarding when you can challenge yourself to reach your goals.

In addition to teaching English, I love Japanese culture and food. I have gone to many shrines and temples, especially in Mie and Kyoto and want to travel more around Japan. I also enjoy cooking new recipes and of course eating delicious Japanese food (I especially like eating natto). I even try to practice eating ramen like a native Japanese person (with the sound).

I also play tennis and started when I was about seven years old. I used to play tennis competitively until high school. So, I definitely enjoy talking about sports and fitness activities as well.

I hope that we can talk more soon and that you will give me the opportunity to help you reach your English goals!
