Frou introduced me an interesting article, as usual. I didn't have enough time to read it, I struggled to read it in our lesson. There're some words and phrases that I don't know. I learned many words today! The topic was recycled clothing. It is made from plastic bottles. It was an interesting story. Thank you, Frou. See you.

I am so happy to see you again, Nix. I enjoyed talking about the last weekend events. Today, I learned ‘how to ask’ and ‘how to apology’ properly. I think they are very important expression in our life included business scene. In addition, because your instruction has always been helpful for me, I really appreciate it. Catch you soon, Nix !

Max and I continued the conference transcript. There are a lot of good expressions and Max explained to me how to use them. They look very common in business settings and I'm sure they all are useful. Thank you Max! I'm looking forward to our next lesson!

自己紹介 Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Kari and I am originally from Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. I have my MBA in Business administration and many of my past jobs included banking, loans, and even writing contracts for the Air Force. In 2013, I decided to try something new and came to Japan to teach English.

Out of all the jobs I have had in the past, teaching English is the most rewarding and it has become my favorite. One of the biggest reasons for this, is all the amazing students who I have had the privilege to teach English to over the past three and a half years. They truly work so hard and are so determined to reach their English goals that it makes me want to try harder too and help them as much as I can. They definitely inspire me to become a better teacher.

Throughout the years, I have gained a lot of teaching experience. In Tokyo, I taught kids classes, business classes, intensive English classes, private lessons, and free talk lessons. I like to focus on pronunciation, intonation, building vocabulary, and giving my students confidence in their English ability. I really want to help my students improve their English fluency.

Therefore, I always tell my students an important message that I feel will help them to improve faster: mistakes are okay. In order to be an active learner and speak as much as possible, you might make a mistake, but please don't worry because this is a big part of the learning process. These mistakes will help you to learn and improve your English fluency and give you more confidence. I know how hard learning a language is, as I also study Japanese, but it is so rewarding when you can challenge yourself to reach your goals.

In addition to teaching English, I love Japanese culture and food. I have gone to many shrines and temples, especially in Mie and Kyoto and want to travel more around Japan. I also enjoy cooking new recipes and of course eating delicious Japanese food (I especially like eating natto). I even try to practice eating ramen like a native Japanese person (with the sound).

I also play tennis and started when I was about seven years old. I used to play tennis competitively until high school. So, I definitely enjoy talking about sports and fitness activities as well.

I hope that we can talk more soon and that you will give me the opportunity to help you reach your English goals!
