According to the article that you introduced to me, the ingredient in marijuana has a good effect on the brain aging. That's an interesting argument. But there are very few people who advocate legalizing marijuana in Japan. Anyway in aging society we have to find the way of recovering memory loss caused by alzheimer dementia. Thank you so much!

Tonight, our internet connection was a little bad, so she tried to connect Skype to me several times. Eventually, though the connection had a little noise, we could complete online material. Her teaching was very polite and nice as usual. Thank you so very much, Nix. See you soon!

I took Jing's lesson for the first time in almost a month. She often asked me my research topic. Today we also talked about waste management about stocked waste in our house and aged people. In fact, this was the first time for me to talk about this topic in English. She asked me of this topic from various ways, so it was a good practice for me. Thank you, Jing. See you.

Charlotte, thank you for the lesson today, the kids liked talking with you, and they said they want to continue to take lessons with you. As you said, I should leave the kids by themselves in the room from the next time, so they won't rely on me. Kenji thought the textbook was a bit difficult for him, so can he start with 1, too? Thanks. Yuko

Today, I learned English with the lyrics of the cranberries song. Lyrics are difficult sometimes, but I can taste the richness of words. Thank you for the lovely lesson!

It was very fun talking with her. She's very cheerful and kind, so I could relax and enjoyed her lesson. She let me talk about myself and we talked about Japanese things. I found difficult to introduce about place where I live in though. I enjoyed the lesson very much! It was nice to see you finally(^^)

Hello, my name is Mariko, and I am living in Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.

Communicating in English is very different from doing it in Japanese; you have to tell your opinion clearly so you have to know about yourself well. English is not only a subject to study but a tool for talking about yourself and your opinions.

I am hoping to help you establish the foundation of your opinions so that you feel confident about yourself, and then as a next step you will start expanding your ability to use English to tell about yourself and understand other English speakers in the world.

I did not understand English when I was learning it in Japanese. I hated English and always failed English classes while I was in school in Japan. When I started studying English in English, I realized that English is really simple! It’s difficult when you think about it in Japanese. How did I learn this? Let me explain.

It has been over eight years since my ex-husband was transferred to Los Angeles and I was thrown into a new life where I was required to use English. The first year was very difficult and my health deteriorated; however, because of this experience, I decided to study medicine and started learning English from almost zero at UCLA Extension and community college in Los Angeles.

My first obstacle to overcome was the fact that I did not know about myself and did not have my own opinions. I could speak a little English, but I did not have any opinions to talk about. Ever since I realized that part, I started to think more critically and started having opinions in a field of my interest, and started telling those opinions to other people via English as a communication tool.

Then I studied general science courses and college level science courses to be accepted into graduate school to study naturopathic medicine, and I did it! I now am living with my American husband – who is an experienced English teacher – and he has trained me pretty well to speak proper English.

How about you? Do you know about yourself? I am hoping to help you with my experiences.
Even I could come up to this point, so you can do it! Let's make it happen together!

If you are planning to study in the United States, I can give you some tips to survive classes and how I studied to get As in universities!
